The kingdom of God is like a software company which has clinched a $50 million contract with a major client. The initial payment is $5 million. The vendor then sends in a team to complete the project in various stages, the completion of which results in more payment. Until finally the full $50 million is collected i.e. when the software has cutover and gone live.

But how can the full amount be received if the team fails to perform to the client's satisfaction? Even though in principle the $50 million has been secured, if the team is not dedicated and efficient, the project will still fail.

How terrible it will be for team members who have not demonstrated professionalism and high-quality in their work! Will not the CEO of the software company remove them for jeopardising the project?

So it is with the kingdom of heaven.
