The kingdom of God is like a guy whose hard-disk crashes. Because he hasn't backed-up his data for over half a year, much important information is lost.
He asks around for people to help him recover his precious data (which includes essays he spent hours writing, critical email communications, presentation slides and his carefully accumulated half a thousand web links).
His work is affected and he has to anxiously explain to his superiors his situation. He's given a new notebook but that's small consolation.
Until, finally, a technician tells him that it was a mechanical failure in his old Bluedot notebook and that solution would involve merely transfering the hard-disk from the Dot to a spare Dell sitting around.
When the transfer is done, and the guy is relievedly accessing his old information again, he says to the co-workers (whilst staring lovingly at his old desktop which he'd written off as gone for good), "Yes! Yes! I've got all my files back again!"
And so he makes a point to never forget to back-up or take his notebook's condition for granted anymore. Ever.
There is much rejoicing in heaven when any part of creation already lost, is later found, redeemed and given full life again.
