Weird Al

"People who are tagged should write a blogpost of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says 'you are tagged' in their comments and tell them to read your blog."

I was tagged by Pei Ling, so here goes...do
n't know if the below qualify as 'weird', but I know I've never been able to find a fully logical explanation for them:

1. When I'm with extroverted, highly opinionated people, I act like an introvert. When I'm with quiet, soft-spoken folks, I act like the heart and soul of the party.

I wonder if it's due to some unconcious need to 'balance' the social atmosphere. Or just my vanity cum desire to stand out?

2. I have trouble organising my thoughts and occasionally spend hours arranging and rearranging concepts, ideas and stories into the best sequence possible.

Perfectionism? Insecurity?

3. I'm one of very few people in their thirties who support Tottenham Hotspur (a waiter, probably two-thirds my age, once asked me when I told him so, "Why?!")

My weekend actually feels worse if they lose or draw a should-have-won game. And during those minutes when my mind wanders, I playback goal-scoring scenes in my mind and/or imagine I'm Berbatov or some other great player about to send the stadium wild with a super shot.

4. I have a tendency to imitate the speaking style of the community I'm with.

I once spent two weeks in London and found myself thinking and speaking Brit-ish, spent a week in Melbourne and I sound like Steve Irwin, ;>)

5. I like rewatching Jackie Chan kungfu scenes. Over and over again. It gives me a high, as does occasionally running key dramatic movie dialogues in my head (e.g. the courtroom showdown between Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men).

Some anchoring (a'la NLP) involved here?

6. I have a tendency to be very harsh/strict with my seniors and superiors but am very lenient (to a fault, I'm sure) with those younger than or under me. This creates the irony of many people seeing me as a bad leader (because I find it very hard to confront) yet also more than a few feeling I might be a good one (since I tend to kick, and not kiss, the toughest asses around, with all due respect, of course).

And thus I tag Sherman, Alex, Derek, Barb, Sze Wei & Sivin.
