To Will & Wait: The Simple Life (Pt.2)

One center. The kingdom.
Three principles. My all is of God. My all is cared by God. My all is for those in need. Thus, simplicity. Purity of heart is to will one thing - Mr. Kierkegaard's Danish butter-fortune cookie. Will the kingdom. Seek the kindom. Live it.
That's the home page when your surf is swallowed by the Web tsunami. That's a friendly gas-station in the middle of unknown road. That's the Reset button when your windows don't emerge anymore. That's plain white-and-buttered bread when all else tastes like fungi. That's a friend when you need some long-lost authenticity. That's the gear back at neutral.
That's the teller machine at the end of the month. That's the card when the tag is too high. That's a good 'ol classic when you're sick of reality trash. That's simple push- and sit-ups when the gym's crowded. That's a long-hand/small-hand clock when you need the time, just the time, desperately.
That's family when the day (or the conference) is over.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6.
Yikes. Notice that the passage doesn't even say you'll FIND the kingdom! Seek, look, search. It's the tilting of the soul. It's a posture, an attitude. A tune that's never quite sung, always hanging, flickering on the edge of the note(s). A horizon that's witnessed by never attained.

Purity of heart is to wait for one thing. For those things that Christ said will exceed the quality of even His own tasks (John 14:12). For the glimmer of hope and providing in each new day. For the look in the eyes of those you've been praying for, which confirms the newness of their hearts. For the news reports and mag articles which sing out true human-ness and true community in places where the opposite reigns.
