Being a book bug, I gravitate towards where I can see the latest stuff coming out. I'm not talking about fiction (who can miss seeing the latest from Stephen King, John Grisham, Margaret Atwood and so on? Just step into any shop selling paper, pens or mags). When it comes to theological and philosophical reading, new works come out from everywhere. Throw in the abundance of authors and you're in trouble if you wanna keep up.
Therefore, any cool constantly updated booklists I can get is welcomed. If you're in my shoes, here's what I've got so far:
1. Glenn Miller's Books
2. Journal of Cultural & Religious Theology's List of Books Recommended for Review
3. Christianity Today's Book Page
4. James Patrick Holding's Book Reviews
5. Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society
Some authors are also known for heavy foot-noting. Hey, stick around with people who read widely and your perspective almost naturally broadens (smile). Among those whose books I also value for their 'pointing me' elsewhere are: Leonard Sweet (I recall reading that this dude takes in thirty books a week, *eyes rolling*), Greg Boyd (his 'Cynic Sage & Son of God' is almost 20% notes), Tom Peters (whose latest 'big' book, Re-Imagine, was so thick that the notes were put online! - he also has a "What I'm Reading" section in his blog), N.T Wright (who also had to extend his five-book project, Christian Origins & The Question of God, to six books because his third instalment stretched the limit of Fortress Press' binding!), and a few others.
I'm grateful that Sivin frequently features some new books in his blog.
